ROSEWOOD ARTS CENTER 54 F = supply fee = supply list ADULT/TEEN GLASS Rosewood Glass Club June 3 & August 5, 6 – 8 p.m. Rosewood Arts Center invites all glass art enthusiasts to Glass Club! Join experienced glass artist, Guustie Alvarado, in our brand-new glass studio. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just looking into the possibility of picking up a new hobby, this is for you. Prepare to discuss your passion for glass, get answers to your questions about glass and learn about the glass program at Rosewood. Free and open to artists ages 16 and up. Don’t miss your chance to stoke new passions and connect with glass creatives in our community! Glass Fusing-Intro Workshop Ages: 16+ Students learn how to cut and arrange glass to create a kiln-fused 2 piece set of matching dishes. This class can be taken as an introduction or as a skill refresher. Various enameling techniques are taught. Classes are devoted to demonstrations and work time spent on the techniques introduced. Students review threading, stitches, tension, bobbins, bobbin winding, parts of the machine, accessories and trouble shooting. Students have 2 easy practice projects to learn seam allowance, precision, stitch lengths and widths. Students learn the history of pattern sizing, how to take measurements, how to read a sewing pattern, popular symbols, tips on buying patterns and much more. As a special bonus there is an extra hour for this class to draft a simple A line skirt pattern. Students should bring a note pad, pen or pencil and a tape measure. 03-41344-A Wed. 6 – 8:30 p.m. Aug. 14 Fee: $35/resident; $40/non-resident Location: Rosewood Arts Center Instructor: Tracy McElfresh ADULT / TEEN SEWING ADULT / TEEN DANCE FREE ARTMAKING WORKSHOPS Join resident artist Leesa Haapapuro for 2 open studio sessions as her project, Passages, nears its conclusion. Participants assist with the paper marbling of end papers as well as the binding process of the finished project book.
