Founded by Sergei Diaghilev, the Paris-based Ballets Russes(1909-1929) revolutionized ballet through collaborations between leading choreographers, composers, and visual artists. Focusing on artists including Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Marc Chagall, and Sonia Delaunay, each session pairs an exploration of their Ballets Russes work with a creative project. Students experiment with Matisse-inspired paper cutouts, Chagall-inspired watercolor paintings, expressive costume designs and experimental poetry collages, while learning about the dance and music they complimented. No previous art experience is necessary. Ages: 16+ Fee: $125/resident; $156/non-resident Location: Rosewood Arts Center Instructor: Hannah Kasper 01-41921 A Tue. 10:15 – 11:15 a.m. Jan. 19 – Feb. 23
