This league will focus on fundamentals and is designed to create a positive environment with an emphasis on good sportsmanship. Attendance will be tracked for those looking for verified hours! Sports that may be incorporated into this program are: basketball, soccer, floor hockey, kickball, volleyball and all of the favorite gym games. Participants will be grouped by age and ability as much as possible. We follow the Kettering City Schools calendar for holidays and inclement weather. If you are a travel-level player, this league is probably not for you. Volleyball practices are held at the Kettering Recreation Complex on Mondays OR Wednesdays at 5:15 p.m. and games will be held on Friday evenings. Advantage Kettering is the perfect setting for beginners 8 and older. Sessions are affordable, flexible and personalized, led by USPTR Certified Instructor Patrick Ellis. Tennis is a great all-around body conditioning, life-long sport that is fun for all ages. It is effective at building fine motor-skills, hand-to-eye coordination and body strength, all while building confidence and longevity. Ages: 8+ Group Sessions offered at $20/hr (group sizes are 2 – 4 individuals) No membership fee required, racquets are provided. Sessions offered November – May BEGINNER TENNIS Players with little to no tennis experience. At this level, players will be working on developing ball control and proper racquet grip. Players will be introduced to forehand and backhand strokes, serving, return of serve, volleying, and overhead smash. All sessions are held at the Kettering Rec Complex on Fridays and Saturdays.
