GENERAL INFORMATION AQUATIC FACILITIES The Kettering Recreation Complex has two aquatic facilities: the indoor Main Pool & Spa Area and the outdoor Adventure Reef Water Park. Both facilities have their own entrance and schedule of operational hours. Please stop by any information desk for a Daily Drop-in Schedule for either facility. AQUATIC GUIDELINES To make your visit more enjoyable, please review our guidelines. Water Park Guidelines: • All patrons are expected to abide by the City of Kettering Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department Code of Conduct. Please see the information desk for further information. • Please feel free to bring your own lawn chairs into the water park. Adventure Reef lawn chairs are for those 13 years and older. • Adventure Reef Water Park is a family-friendly environment; public display of affection is not permitted. Admissions Information: • Smoking and tobacco permitted in designated areas outside the water park only (18 and older). See cashier booth for a re-admission stamp before exiting. • Fees are for one-time admittance. Admission is required to re-enter. • Adventure Reef remains open during periods of rain. However, if we decide to close the Water Park for the day due to poor weather or if the air temperature drops below 70 degrees, we will issue coupons to those who are in the Water Park when the decision is made. NO refunds will be issued. • If Adventure Reef attendance drops below 25, Patrons will be provided a one-hour notice that our facility will be closing. • We request that children 8 and under be accompanied to the water park by someone 13 and older. • Small (16" x 12" x 12") coolers are permitted and will be checked by staff. (Alcohol and glass bottles or containers are not permitted on the premises.) Swimming Guidelines: • Inflatable arm supports and toys are not permitted. • Swimmers must be dressed in appropriate swimwear. To protect our slides, swimwear and suits with rivets and zippers are not permitted on water slides. • Extended underwater breath holding is not permitted. • Swim diapers are required for infants and non-toilet trained patrons. Main Pool Information: • Food and drink are prohibited on the pool deck. • For your safety, children must be able to swim from any slide or diving board to the closest ladder on their own. INCLEMENT WEATHER AT THE WATER PARK When Adventure Reef Water Park is open for public swim, the Water Park and Main Pool and Spa Area will close whenever lightning is seen or thunder is heard in the immediate area. The Water Park will delay for 30 minutes following each occurrence. When bad weather hits, we ask that you gather all of your belongings and proceed to the Water Park Bath Houses. If inclement weather continues for 90 to 120 minutes, the Water Park will close for the day. Additionally, the Water Park will close on days that the temperature is below 70 degrees at opening, or if there are less than 25 people in the park during open hours. Please keep in mind that we do not offer refunds for inclement weather. Be sure to download our PlayKettering app for up-to-date information on cancellations or closings. For more information, call 937.296.2587. Slides/ Diving Boards: (Does not apply to Clownfish Cove Tot Pool) • You are required to be at least 48 inches tall to ride the Liquid Fury slides. If you are less than 48 inches, you may ride The Tropical Twister slides after passing a swim test. • Please visit our first aid station near the Water Fall Pool to be measured for a wristband showing you are taller than 48 inches. • Ride the slide “feet first” only please. • The following items are not permitted on the slides: • Life jackets or flotation devices • Jewelry, watches, goggles or sunglasses • Rivets on bathing suits • Young children accompanied by an adult • When utilizing the diving boards, a weight limit of 250 pounds must be adhered to at all times. Leisure Pool: (our zero depth entry pool in the Water Park) • Please refrain from hanging on the stairs or handrails. • Sitting on, jumping, standing on and/or climbing over the dividing wall is not permitted. • We ask that you do not hang on the lap-lane hooks. • Please do not dive into the pool. • Please keep stairway clear for swimmers entering and exiting.
