Students review threading, stitches, tension, bobbins, bobbin winding, parts of the machine, accessories and trouble shooting. Students have 2 easy practice projects to learn seam allowance, precision, stitch lengths and widths. Students should bring, small sewing kit, thread and machine (optional). Students use enamel powder mixed with water to paint onto the copper surface. Students will learn how to control color placement, layering, and firing to achieve imagery and surface effects. The course covers material preparation, kiln firing, and finishing processes needed to create unique enameled copper pieces. $5 materials fee due to instructor at the start of class.
