Using play, songs, and games, parents are guided by the instructor in water acclimation techniques to help children become comfortable and safe in and around water. Skills may include entering/exiting the pool, blowing bubbles, paddling, kicking, floating, and underwater exploration. Skills covered may include entering water in shoulder-deep water, treading water, bobbing consecutively, front, jellyfish, and tuck floats, recovering from glides and floats, and change in direction while swimming on front or back independently.
