In this hands on STEM inspired class, we will talk about local birds found in our area and explore how design, patterns, and materials work together. Participants will plan their design, problem-solve tile placement, and experiment with balance and structure as they create a bird mosaic ornament. Using colorful acrylic tiles and a wooden bird base, kids will build and assemble a one- of-a-kind piece to take home, applying spatial reasoning, sequencing, and fine motor skills along the way. In this hands on, STEM inspired class, kids will learn talk about local flowers found in our area. Participants will, then apply basic design and engineering concepts as they plan and build their own felt flower bouquet. Using soft felt, pipe cleaners, and problem-solving skills, kids will cut, twist, and assemble vibrant flowers that never wilt. Developing spatial reasoning, fine-motor skills, and creativity along the way. Using the popular fifth-edition fantasy role playing rules set, participants will journey across the island of Los Tarina, team up with fellow heroes, and work together to save a village in peril! Each session is guided by an experienced Game Master who will bring the story to life and help players shape their own heroic paths. This 7-session program includes pizza, drinks, snacks, a full set of dice for each participant, and a personal adventure notebook to bring their character and imagination to life.
