46 Rosewood Arts Center Adult Machine Basics Learn to use your sewing machine or borrow one of Rosewood’s in a fun setting. Students review threading, stitches, tension, bobbins, bobbin winding, parts of the machine, accessories and trouble shooting. Students have 2 easy practice projects to learn seam allowance, precision, stitch lengths and widths. Students should bring, small sewing kit, thread and machine (optional). Students learn the history of pattern sizing, how to take measurements, how to read a sewing pattern, popular symbols, tips on buying patterns and much more. As a special bonus there is an extra hour for this class to draft a simple A line skirt pattern. Students should bring a note pad, pen or pencil and a tape measure. Enameling Workshop: Floral Designs in Pencil If you like to draw or doodle, your pictures will transfer nicely to this enameling method. Students learn to prepare the surface of enamel for drawing as well as techniques the instructor developed to create beautiful floral designs! Students meld drawings with enamel to create a wearable art pendant. $5 materials fee due to instructor at the start of class.
